Rolf Harris questioned on Sexual offences

Rolf Harris questioned in YewTree sex offence probeRolf Harris has been questioned by police over historical allegations of sexual offenses.

The 83-year-old entertainer and artist was interviewed under caution after attending police premises in south London by appointment in November.

On 28 March, Mr Harris, from Berkshire, was arrested and bailed until May.

He was held as part of the inquiry set up after claims were made against Jimmy Savile although his arrest is unrelated to the former BBC DJ and TV presenter.

 

Muslim Council vows action to stop children being grooming

Ibrahim Mogra vows action to stop groomingThe Muslim Council of Britain has said it will take action to prevent girls being "groomed" for sex.

Sheikh Ibrahim Mogra of the council said people were sometimes reluctant to speak out - but they have a "religious duty" to do so.

He said the council was working with groups including the NSPCC, police and Muslim organisations to educate people.

The action comes after high-profile sex abuse cases involving Muslim men in Rochdale and Derby.

9 years for Trafficking her own daughter

THE first person in Australia to be convicted of child trafficking has been sentenced to nine years jail.

But the woman will be eligible for parole after four years.

The victim was subject to a life of prostitution between age 11 and 17.

Her mother pleaded guilty to 20 charges, including child trafficking and procuring a child for prostitution, and was sentenced in the Supreme Court today.
